Eligibility: Junior or Senior (recommend Accounting I , if possible) Course Description: This course teaches the essential of starting and managing a new business venture. The class focuses on the development of a business plan for a student generated concept business. Students will determine what personal characteristics are found most often in successful entrepreneurs, and determine which of those characteristics they themselves have. Students will compare the different forms of business ownership and decide which form is best for different types of businesses and business owners. Students will evaluate the feasibility of different business ideas and learn about marketing research strategies and methods. Daily Work Policy: Assignments are due at the beginning of class. As you come into class, turn in your assignments in the tray labeled for your class. Work turned in any time after the beginning of class is late. Late Work Policy: Any work turned in up to one day late receives 50% credit. Any work turned in more than one day late receives zero credit. Make up Work Policy: Any assignment that are due on the day you are gone are due immediately upon your return (for unexpected absence only). Assignments assigned on the dya uou are gone are due no later than two days after you return to school. If you know in advance that you will be gone you must get your assignments and turn them in before you leave. No make up of work will be allowed for unexecused absences.
