A NIACC Career Link Class
        Course Length:  1 Semester

        Eligibility:  Completion of Office 2003

        Note:  Most of the following is directly from the NIACC Course Syllabus and Catalogue Course Description

        Course Description:
     This is a NIACC Career Link class.  
     This class covers the basics of building a Web page.  Students will learn basic coding with HTML and explore web
     development products wuch as NVU or Komposer to build a web page.  Studetns will also learn how to post a web
     page on a seb server to be seen on the Internet, add graphics, change fonts, add colors, develop nvigation, and design
     tables.  

        Course Objectives:
  • Discuss and apply Internet basics.
  • Employe File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for web site delivery.
  • Eploy basic HTML to create a web page.
  • Identify and employ web creation tools.
  • Design and create basic interactive Internet Web Pages incorporating graphics, and tables using basic HTML                   and/or a web page development software.
  • Create an electronic portfolio showcasing school experiences and projects.
  • Comply to the NIACC IT Professionalism Statement.
        Grading Policies:
    No late assignments will be accepted.
    Assignments not turned in will receive a zero.
    Plagiarism will result in an F. (Consult NIACC Student Handbook)

        Attendance and Participation Policy:
    Attendance will be taken every day of class.  You are expected to be here every day.
    You are expected to be an active learner.  Participation will be a part of your grade in this class.  It is in your best
    educatiaonal interest to attend class every day, work hard, and contribute to the class.

        Grading:
    See the grading scale link on the homepage.
    Not solving the problems will result in a D or F for that problem.
    Successfully completing the assigned problems is necessary to achieve a C.
    To achieve a B or A grade, the student must go beyond the scope of the written asignment  through intellectual and
    intuitive though portrayed in his/her work.
    In addition to the above, the grade will be affected by class attitude and faculty evaluation of student growth throughout
    the course.

        Plagarism:
    All work submitted must be your own; any assignment that includes owrks done by other students (current or previous)
    or work taken from other websites will result in failure for that project and the course.  
    Note: this is more strict than the Osage High School policy due to the fact that we must follow NIACC policies
